Class Descriptions & Placement Criteria

Ballet

Creative Movement Ballet Ages 3- pre KBallet 1B Ages 2nd -4th grade
Instruction is focused on Ballet terminology, technique, placement and positions. This class will learn terminology and be able to recognize movements by hearing them.
Ballet 2 A Ages 3rd grade-5th grade.
Dancers must take ballet 2x's a week. You may mix this class with a Ballet one B or Ballet 2 (if you are in the right grade/age group). This is an advanced class with a focus on growing and learning at a rapid pace.
Ballet 2 Age 10 and up
This is a Pointe preparatory class. Recommended to take twice a week. You must have a year of experience to be in this class unless otherwise directed by a teacher. This Class will have a broader Ballet Vocabulary and will have mastered all positions. This Class will be strongly focused on technique.
Ballet 3 and Pointe Ages 13- up
It is recommended that a dancer in ballet 3 take at 3 ballet classes a week. It’s required to take ballet 3x's a week to be on Pointe. It is hard to excel in dance if you only take one class weekly. This class will be strongly focused on technique to make a stronger dancer with a wide range of ability.
Ballet 4 Age 13- up
Students will be asked to this class once invited by a teacher. Student must have at least 3 years of previous ballet training. To be in ballet three, dancer will be required to take 3 ballet classes a week for strength and technique purposes. This class is for the advanced dancer who is on Pointe.

Hip-Hop (HH)

Creative Movement Hip-Hop Ages 3-5
Introduction to terminology, positions, following ability, movement and choreography
Hip-Hop 1 Ages 6-8
HH1 will teach a quicker paced movement with a higher level of choreography.
Hip-Hop 2 Ages 9-12
HH2 is more advanced hip hop choreography and is faster paced than HH1.
Hip-Hop 3 Ages 13-up
This class requires one year of experience.
Hip Hop 4 Ages 13-up
This class is advanced and for dancers who pick up choreography quickly.
Open teen level open to all 13 & up.
This is for the teen with little to no experience in hip hop. This class is also open to the teen with experience and wanting to add another hip hop class to their schedule.

Jazz / Modern

Jazz one B
This class is focused on Jazz technique and will introduce an array of jazz movement and terms.
Jazz 2 Ages 9-up
This class is focused on Jazz technique and will introduce an array of jazz movement and terms.
Modern 3 Ages 13-up
Perfect for the level 3 ballet dancer. It's recommended to be enrolled in ballet to be in this class.
Jazz 3 Ages 13-up
Perfect for the level 3 ballet dancer. It's recommended to be enrolled in ballet to be in this class.
Lyrical 4 Ages 13 - up
Perfect for the level l 4 ballet dancer. It's required to take level 4 ballet to be in this class.
Modern 4 Ages 13-up
This is an advanced class that will require previous experience. Or, a teacher can direct your placement through a trial class or audition.
